Certification
A diamond certificate (or diamond grading report) is a report created by one or more trained gemologists. The diamond is evaluated, measured, and scrutinized using trained eyes, a jeweler’s loupe, a microscope, and other industry tools to determine the diamond’s carat weight, clarity, color, dimensions, polish, symmetry, and other attributes. These characteristics will be noted on the diamond grading report. On some more recent round diamond reports, a cut grade may also be included.

The most respected diamond grading lab and institute in the diamond industry is the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This institute is known for its consistency and unbiased diamond grading systems. Diamonds accompanied by a GIA grading report are most highly valued and provide peace of mind to the buyer
